Meet Keisha and her son who live at the Sun Valley Homes. This short video illustrates the importance of having youth participate in after school activities and sports teams. Being a mother of five children is a challenge in any circumstance. The challenges are compounded when you are low income single mom. Thanks to the Fresh Start Summer Experience Program, Keisha was very grateful for the opportunity to keep her son occupied and out of trouble! There are many young families who are in need of assistance with scholarships and funding to ensure their children are not left behind. Connecting youth to positive role models and fun activities prevents boredom and negative behavior.
A special thank you to everyone who contributed to this amazing event and here is a video created by Matt Velasquez.
